In your element with NYX
Back in September NYX Cosmetics launched a collection of Eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and brushes. The collection 'In your element' is made up of six palettes all accompanied by three lipsticks.
The collection is based around astrological elements.
Earth, Wind, Fire, Air, Water and Metal. Each palette is made up of twelve shades inspired by set element.
I picked up the Earth palette. The shades are stunning and the palette is made up of very neutral earthy tones, as I'm sure the name lead you to believe. This was my first time using NYX Eyeshadow products (Shocking, I know). I can't speak for any of the other palettes in the collection, but I did find a few of the matte shades in this palette were a little hard to work with. I found them a little patchy and hard to blend. Upon trying to pack the color on with a flat brush I found I had the same result. The shimmer or more satin shades applied with ease, It was just a select few of the matte finishes.
Even with that I still find I gravitate towards this palette often. The colors are really beautiful and for the price point ( especially now - the collection is on sale) You can't go wrong.
I also picked up a lipstick from the Air portion of the collection. I'm no stranger to the NYX lip products and this was as beautiful as I could have anticipated it to be. The shade is Pale Pink. I do find on me it has a hint of a peach tone to it. It applies well and is very lovely on the lips. It has a nice shine to it and the pigmentation is great !
Lastly I grabbed a baked Blush, in the tone Chiffon. The baked blushes are really finely milled and give the skin a really beautiful glow. They remind me a lot of the MAC mineralize blushes, just a quarter of the price.
